Project Description
The project which would involve the Construction of 96 km long four lane Expressway split in to four sections namely Matara to Beliatta, Beliatta to Wetiya, Wetiya to Andarawewa and Mattala to Hambantota Via Andarawewa. The Construction would include associated structures such as interchanges, intersections flyovers, underpasses, overpasses, viaducts etc. It is envisaged there would be extensive soft ground treatment where deemed necessary as the trace traverses thorough marshy areas and flood plains the Construction also envisages future widening at the outside to six lane.
The main objectives of the consultancy services are
- The construction supervision of the contract works so as to ensure that these are carried out in accordance with stipulated Conditions of Contract, Specifications, Drawings etc.
- Develop project performance management system to monitor progress of the Project Implementation, including Environmental Management Plan.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental and Social Impact mitigation requirements of Civil Works Contract.
- Check detailed engineering designs of the contractor for structures, soft soil treatment, toll system and all related facilities and approve these designs.
- Amend detailed engineering designs/contract drawings prepared by the RDA where required.
- Assist the RDA in sorting out land acquisition related matters and environmental matters of the Project.
